Oh, so that’s why Matt Cassel hasn’t started a meaningful game since high school. Anyone care to debate the issue of whether Tom Brady is more valuable to his team than any other player in the NFL, Peyton Manning included? (Would you trade Cassel straight up for Jim Sorgi? I wouldn’t). Next contract negotiation with the Patriots, Brady’s agents should pop in the video of New England’s first two 2008 preseason showings on offense.

    Case closed.

well, My preseason is over and my pats have figured out one thing. That there Back up qaurterback of the future is O’connell. Brady did not take a snap in the preseason, Moss hardly played at all and Welker had some rib issues. In saying this the preseason, as in all sports, means nothing.

Tonight at the dizzy SMU Vs Rice….

It appears as if the Chris Simms era is about to begin in New England, more to follow later. Also Lewis Hamilton lost his first place in yesterday’s Belgium ZGrand Prix do to an Illegal move and te Jays are 8 games out of a wild card spot….

    My Brother on Brady:

I have alway stood by my feeling that Brady is a product of the system. He is without question the most over rated athlete ever. New England was on the way down anyway.

i think the pats wont missa beat.take out one system qb and plug in another.

The Patriots just released the following statement regarding Tom Brady:

“After extensive tests this morning, it was revealed that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s left knee, which was injured in the first quarter of yesterday’s game, will require surgery. He will be placed on injured reserve and will miss the remainder of the 2008 season.”

    Re: New England & Brady.

Well, at least I can hope for an underdog again. This “best team in the league” nonsense was starting to get me down. Go Matt C! Go DEE! Go Pats. No one thinks we can, but we will—2001 all over again!

    There’s my spurt of optimism.

It’s the system in N.E. not the QB, just watch. On another note how does a stumbling bumbling idiot like my bro who know’s nothing about football win the pool by going 14 for 14? He must of picked the team colors that he likes the most. I dont know!

    A Blue Jays Comment:

While not completely out of it, at seven games behind the Red Sox in the wild-card race, the Blue Jays are largely a playoff afterthought. Though the Jays haven’t factored into a pennant race in years, the September surge is becoming something of an annual occurrence. Over the past three seasons, they have the second-best winning percentage (.625) in September, behind the Yankees.

This is for you 54 and Poach

In this week’s polls, the conference has five teams in the top 10 – No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Florida, No. 6 LSU, No. 9 Alabama, No. 10 Auburn. No other conference has done that before and even the SEC people are amazed. And you could make the argument that if Tennessee hadn’t opened the season with a loss to UCLA, the Volunteers could have been the sixth top-10 SEC team.

There are other significant numbers – such as the money ESPN and CBS laid out to the SEC in a contract extension. Try $2.25 billion over 15 years by ESPN and $750 million over that span by CBS. Some $3 billion will balance a lot of athletic department budgets.

(Your fantasy sleeper for this week? Brandon Lloyd. I know, I know, we’ve been here before. But they threw to him constantly during that Bucs game and he made a number of impossible catches. Remember, when you catch six balls for 124 yards and a touchdown with Orton throwing to you, that’s like catching 14 balls for 225 yards and three TDs with a real QB.)

    here it is!

There’s a yellow rose of Texas
That I am going to see
    No other soldier knows her
    No soldier, only me.
She cried so when I left her
It like to broke my heart
And if I ever find her
    We never more will part.

She’s the sweetest rose of color
    This soldier ever knew
Her eyes are bright as diamonds
    They sparkle like the dew.
You may talk about your dearest May
    And sing of Rosa Lee
But the Yellow Rose of Texas
    Beats the belles of Tennessee.

Oh, my heart is feeling weary
And my head is hanging low
    I’m goin’ back to Georgy
    To find my Uncle Joe.
You may talk about your Beauregard
    And sing of Bobby Lee
But the Gallant Hood of Texas
    He raised Hell in Tennessee.

Well, Well, Well. An onteresting week-end in college football. Bosting College wins and so do the Commadores. I admit that quielty I was routing for the Tigers to take the SEC this year but it appears that my new almost favorite team will be the Commadores of Vandy. If you are a fan of the SEC and your team has two losses then it might me time to jump on the Vandy bandwagon.

Mind you the tigers lost because the offence was offensive but you must gove the HArvasrd of the SEC some credit for building a tream to compete in the countries second toughest cogerence.

Oh and the Long horns of Texas are up to 5th in the AP polls. Have they played anybody other that Jr. Colleges this year???

Well, Well, Well. It looks as if I sacrificed my Red Sox for a Habs and Pats win Last night. Was it worth it…YES. Coonsider that its been 5.5 years since Montreal beat Florida that bad at home(it was only 3-1) and that Mike Shanahan and the Bronco’s, entering last nights game, were the only tandum to have had a winning record against the Pats since the Bill annd Brady show began (5-1).

Its was good to wakle up today a Habs and Pats fan….oh and a Gatineau fan as well…
